Unlike the Chameleon Carryall, I didn’t leave the expo with the Patriot Campers X-3 trailer, even though I really wanted to!
I can’t wait to take this on our next adventure! And the molle system on the back panel makes it easy to add straps or d-rings so you can attach it wherever you need it. The other side has a velcro back that you can easily modify with several of Step 22’s removable pouches or you can use their Reef Molle Attachment system and still have room for a pouch. It has three generous zipper pouches on one side with plenty of room for shower gear, makeup, and other essentials like medications, bandaids, and nail clippers. This sturdy piece of gear is large enough that I can stow all of my things in one bag and, best of all, it’s completely customizable so I can configure it however I want so that it works perfectly for me. Needless to say, when I saw the Chameleon Carryall in the Step 22 booth, I was pretty excited. Having my toiletries spread across several bags makes it a challenge to quickly find what I need and it’s easier to forget something. Inevitably, I end up carrying multiple bags and that’s not convenient or efficient. That’s why most of the toiletry bags on the market, even the “extra large” ones, just don’t work for me. I have tried really hard to pack only the essentials for our overland adventures (or any adventure), but it seems that I have a lot of essentials. I don’t say this out of stubbornness, it’s just the truth. It can be a little overwhelming if you’re attending the first time, but there are lots of people willing to help you get your bearings.I don’t pack light. Full Overland Expo West 2022 class schedule.Some of the sessions are open to everyone, while other programming is reserved for certain ticket-holders. Remember your class access depends on the type of ticket you have. They are a wealth of information about the shipping process specifically, as well as the fun travel stuff. In 2019, Peter and Kathy Holcombe, along with their teenage daughter Abby, shipped their Sprinter over to Europe for overland exploration.

Dan and Marlene are on their FOURTEENTH year of full-time travel and have grown their family to five along the way. Scott Brady will be interviewing the peerless family known as Mali Mish. I have to give a special shout-out to this episode taping. I recommend you catch as many tapings as you can over the weekend, as the podcast is known for carefully curating guests and crafting interesting conversations. I’m sure the conversation this year will be equally wonderful. No question was off the table and we covered a lot of ground to empower women to go farther. Instead, you get to hear from multiple voices (and get your questions answered directly by them). You don’t have to go with the only opinion in the room. The awesome thing about Overland Expo is how many voices come together to share from their diverse experiences. When we were just getting into overlanding and contemplating which vehicle we wanted to drive around the world, it was Expo sessions like this that helped us understand the pros and cons of all our options.
